rough idle is the primary symptom of a sinking float.
Sounds like you have a carb vent issue or a fuel pressure issue.

In my RV-12 / 912 ULS, the first sign of a possible sinking float is a faint smell of fuel in the cockpit during climb-out. The engine runs fine otherwise. In my experience, ROTAX has not honored any of their replacement floats once they replace the first failed set. It seems they do not warranty the factory-defective replacement floats that are installed to replace the original factory-defective floats. Very disappointing.

We have not had any float warranty claims rejected. Replacement or otherwise.

Not true in my experience! I mailed (circa July 2016) my second pair of defective floats including the required ROTAX on-line warranty form to CPS (Brian Toepfer) and despite my repeated inquiries, CPS was unable to get reimbursement from ROTAX. I never submitted the warranty paperwork for the third pair of factory-defective floats since CPS advised me that ROTAX was not responding to such requests. Rob, I would be happy to send you my documentation and the third pair of defective floats for ROTAX's warranty handling. What is your contact?

Thank you for all of the input.
I contacted Heavenboundaviation.com and spoke with Andy. He confirmed that he did have the floats in stock and we ordered two pairs. Andy was very helpful and easy to work with.

Thank you for all of the input. It was a big help.
