I just cant see how a larger balance tube would have any significant beneficial effect, over the standard, other than in the mind of the fitter.
As I understand the system, the balance tubes primary function is to even out/balance any small vacuum discrepancies between the two carburettors. Making the tube ID bigger, will not do a better job. 😈

The problem with adding fuel injection to a carbureted engine is that you're dependent on the electronics and don't have much backup, unless you spend money on another alternator and a larger battery, modify the return system to the tanks, and even have to change the tanks themselves, since the return line operates at very high pressure. You also have to change the 6-way fuel tank selector valve and the fuel line to fit tanks with a minimum diameter of 8mm…
