    The newer floats weight about 6.4 grams per pair. It only takes .6 grams to be heavy. So some others floats can be out of spec real easy. The float weight is critical to proper fuel level and control in the bowl.

    "I recently priced floats from aircraft spruce and the price now is $275 ($398 AU) a set!"

    RoTax has gone crazy.

    As an on going retirement project, I bring back, to operational condition, old donated ( I have never purchased a mower in my life) ride on mowers. Most in very poor condition.

    Nearly all of them have float chamber/floats controlling the inflow of fuel. I have yet to replace a float (some mowers 30 years old).

    Just did a quick Google for carburettor float MAX (Australian $) prices;

    Nikki $40

    SU $160

    Walbro $32

    Holly $40

    Mikuni $92

    Bing $122

    One Rotax 912 advertisement, $79 for a set of 4  .

    Yes I understand Rotax is supplying flight worthy floats BUT why do they need replacing in the first instance & when they do, why at x 3 the price of the most expensive I found on the net???😈
