Finally getting back from AirVenture 2022. Enjoyed the show, but have heard from quite a few people that now have Covid.

I noticed in both the "One Week Wonder" 912iS and both the Rotax Booth 912iS and 915iS that the coolant hoses looked quite a bit different than my 2021 912iS.  Wasn't able to ask the Rotax booth guys, but it looked to me that the coolant hoses were an orange silicone hose, not the black rubber hoses?

Can anyone confirm?

Yes Covid ruined our Airventure this year.

I took pictures of the 912ULS and it still has the black hoses. I did not even notice the orange hoses.

Are you sure they weren't simply the typical fire resistant hoses like Aircraft Specialty does?  All my rotax 912 hoses are orange, and the are fire insulated.  Maybe since Aircraft Specialty is local to Wisconsin they donated them.

These were definitely not your typical fire-sleeved hoses.  It was on the two iS display engines in the Rotax main both and on the Rotax donated 912iS of the Sonex "One Week Wonder" engine.  I just found in the 915iS C24 Illustrated Parts Manual that there are two parts numbers for the coolant hoses, one is for standard EPDM and one for Silicone.  Looks like they're using them on the 912iS engine as well, even though the Ill. Parts Manual for the 912iS doesn't include them.

The newer silicone hoses are molded to teflon-lined inner hoses. Perhaps Rotax is doing something weird, but here's my old & new Stratoflex 124 hose from aerohoseshop.com

Note the lack of clamps near the end fittings.
