Checking with other owners regarding warranty claims. I received a factory new engine through VANS for an RV-12 I am building. In going over the records for the engine, prior meeting with DAR, I discovered that the prop shaft service bulletin had not been accomplished (engine was received in Jan 2025, after the prop shaft bulliten was released). To accomplish this SB I had to remove the newly installed engine and take it to a Rotax Repair Center. (Wingnuts in S. Cal). The engine also had a bad Stator which caused a lane B failure. 

The certified repair station did the work on these two items and I was told to submit the warranty claim through Motive Air, the West Coast distributor. The total bill for parts and labor came to just over $3,800. It has been over 4 months since claim was submitted and no resolution yet,

I have always had Lycoming engines and been happy with their service and warranty. I was skeptical trying ROTAX but liked the specs and assumed their warranty would be like Lycoming - if something is wrong they will fix it.  Just checking with the forum to see if this is typical response from ROTAX? If this is typical ROTAX customer service I think I will sell my ROTAX powered RV-12 and go back to something Lycoming powered. Very disappointed in ROTAX and their poor warranty response.

    Four months is too long. Call Motive Aero back and see what's going on. It may not be Rotax's fault. It may have been Motive Aero. Give them a call. They can then get you an answer.
