After a recent prop strike (Grrr!) I need to pull my 914UL gearbox for inspection and check the crankshaft for out-of-round and torque damage. Lockwood only sells the torque protractor for several hundred dollars (pretty painful for what I hope is a one time use) and they don't deal with the dial indicator and mounting hardware at all. Does anyone have these things to rent or loan? Or is there a more economical way to go? eBay has nothing.

Update: I got bad info from Lockwood; poor communication within the company. They don't use the crank torque protractor in the maintenance manuals. Instead they have a simpler tool which one utilizes in conjunction with an electronic level....this tool they rent. The dial indicator and magnetic base is another issue...apparently to get one sensitive and accurate enough for the job is $280 from Central Tool. Ouch. Once I use the one I just ordered, maybe there will be a market on eBay for it.
