"Do you feel as though this is a good replacement for the two-day service class, or an add on to it?"

I hate to post this because I do not want anyone to think I'm in competition with Rotax. I like Rotax, its people and the things they do. So quite the contrary. I've been teaching all my life and I love to help and educate people to a higher level. I love to give back and see people learn new things to make life easier. I like to look at a presentation and talk to students to see what can be made better, more enlightening and make it so when you leave the class you don't just retain the average 15%, but I want my students to take with them as much RETAINED knowledge as possible. That usually means hearing things repeated, seeing thing repeatedly and getting your hands on experience. This is what embeds new knowledge that stays with you.

We've had many students who have taken the regular service course and then taken this one. Some newbies and many mechanics that have all said this was far better because of the detail, more info and all the hands on.

So yes. It is an enhanced service class, but includes many more things and has two days of hands on time with a real engine using the annual checklist out of the manual. Plus we limit the size of the class so everyone turns wrenches and screwdrivers. You will work and learn both days from 0800 - 1700 hrs. This class includes more things like how to set a prop pitch, hose change items, clamping, removing a carb to inspect the floats, clean the the idle jet and look for debris and on and on. It's the hands on that all the past students loved and how to do the everyday things you do to your engine and how to understand what certain things or issues mean. It makes no difference if you're just an owner that wants to learn or a mechanic. We teach things like how to determine electrical issues vs fuel issues. We've never had anyone who hasn't liked the class and everyone loves all the real time hands on a live engine and they get to get up close and personal for carb syncing. That's another item that I think gets passed over too fast and misunderstood is carb sync. This is covered in such detail in class plus doing it on a live engine makes each person fully understand what the gauges are telling you and how to diagnose with gauges and the easy and quick way to sync the carbs.

This is why it's called an ENHANCED service class because of all the extra items covered and you doing real time work on a live engine..
