I have a blue top 582 to which I’m fitted an oil injection pump. The engine has been sitting without it propeller for a couple of months . About 1/2 litre of oil has leaked out of one carburettor. Is this just unlucky positioning of the pump when the engine stopped or is there a problem and hopefully a cure?

It appears one of the check valves in the injection pump is not seating correctly causing oil to bypass it. You can replace the check valves with new ones.

    The P/N is 956 010

See attachment for IPC reference (#24)
