Hi,

Following a friend’s advice  I bought MCR oil additive (https://www.x1r.fr), but now I am having second thoughts. Is there any reason why I shouldn’t use in my Rotax 914? I am using AeroShell Sport Plus 4.

Thanks,

Joaquim

I went to the website and if you read your rotax owners manual you would have seen  a JSO MA  that is the gear and wet clutch data

no where on the website does it mention safe with wet clutches. Dont Use  as you most likely get a slipping clutch.

You don't  need to use any oil additives. Just change the oil when you're supposed to and you'll be fine.

Like Roger said, there are no oil additives approved from Rotax.

I don't think we have any type of clutch in the 914... Have we? 😕

Joaquim, to check that go to the Rotax website, Flyrotax.com.  Go to technical documents and scroll to the bottom of the page.  In the black bar at the bottom find "engine configuration search".  Click this and you will see a place to put your engine serial number, this will then tell you how the engine was set up when it left the factory.  it will show if your engine was fitted with a clutch.  Be careful, if you have purchaced this used from someone it may have been changed and that should be shown in your log book.

    Cheers
