voltage regulator questions

Not an electronics person, however my reading of this VR is that it:

Looks good. Lots of cooling fins √

Still requires the connecting of the Capacitor. Unlike some of the other offerings. X

Is a direct replacement. No new holes/brackets required.√

Is the most expensive, by a significant margin, of the aftermarkets. X

There seem to be a lot of potential $ "addon's" to trap the unwary. X

Seems to have a strong following (US?) √

Thanks, gents; I stand corrected!  I thought all of the Rotax regs were shunt type.  Live and learn...

The B and C regulator seems to provide over voltage protection. Do the other offerings also have this feature?

As stated - not an electronics person. Perhaps someone so knowledgeable will comment.

Does not the Rotax recommended 25 amp fuse provide overvoltage protection?
