    Hi John,

Three things easily checked come to mind.

Carb float could be stuck down or fuel leaking into it, causing it to sink. This is not a common problem but sometimes happens.

Carb float valve viton tip could be worn or have a bit of trash in it. This is the most frequent bowl level problem and easily fixed.

If the bowl vent line has been moved and is exposed to the airstream, this can change the level in the float bowl.

    Hi John,

Bill has all good points and I have just one to add. If none of Bill's solutions work pull the carb and adjust the float arm position to it's proper point.

    John,

Go to section 73-00-00 of the heavy maintenance manual, part 3.3.7) It shows you how to adjust the float arms. You can download the manual on this website; just click on engine manuals in the support section. If you print it, have plenty of ink, it's a big manual.

    Hope that fixes it.

    Bill.
