I'm with Bill. It can be welded pretty inexpensively.
They usually don't crack. I personally don't use any more torque than necessary to prevent leaks so my final torque at times may be a little less than spec and I do safety wire the plug. Over torque could cause a crack.

    p.s.
Safety wire the magnetic plug and safety wire the oil pressure cap plug just under and to the left of the oil filter.

Thanks guys I'll take the tank to a machine shop Mon (same one that does bbq smoker/grill repairs for me). I'll post the cost and results as soon as I have them.

Machine shop repair cost $10.00 for the oil tank crack repair. It's stronger than when it was new and no oil leaks. It was not the crush washer like I originally thought. The crack in the tank was so small I couldn't see it until I removed the tank for closer inspection. Sure beats the $700.00/$800.00 depending where you get it new oil tank assembly.
