Hello,
I'm thinking of installing a Thermostasis oil temperature control unit with a 205 degree thermostat. I don't want to destroy any existing oil hoses (in case I want to remove the Thermostasis) so I need to purchase some fittings. I have the part # for the 90 degree fittings EA191321-8S, but I need the straight (in-line) fitting that connects the oil hose from the out port of the oil cooler to the oil pump. I have a 912ULS engine.

I need the Rotax part number for that fitting.

Thank you,

    Steve,

The rotax part # for the nipple that screws into the oil pump housing is #840461. Go to the top of the page and click on the support tab and go to manuals. The nipple is shown in parts manual, section 79-20-00, page six. (just to make sure we're talking about the same thing).

The thermostasis can be bought threaded for an NPT fitting or an AN fitting. I used the NPT threaded thermostat in my installation and bought the fittings from California Power Systems.

Bill, I don't think we are talking about and same thing. I have the oil inlet nipple on the engine at this time. I want to make another oil hose and need the fitting that goes inside the oil hose and connects to the nipple. I thought it was some special Rotax fitting, maybe not.

    Steve,

It could be a different setup. Mine is just a push-on barbed nipple which came with the engine. If yours takes two pieces, it may be a swivel or banjo bolt. Does the hose have a metal ferrule covering the hose where it fits on the nipple? If so, this cover ferrule can be cut off with a dremel tool and the hose replaced with a hose clamp on it. If it is a barbed or bulbed nipple, you wont need anything on the hose itself, just the clamp.

Thanks Bill, the hose has a metal band which clamps the hose to the fitting. If you go to www.Lockwood.aero and enter the part # listed in my first post in their search box, you will see the 90 degree connector….I need a straight connector. I just don't want to destroy anything in case I want to go back to the original setup.
    Thanks, Steve

    Steve,

Now I understand. CPS has those fitttings in 90, 45 degrees, and straight. they are about six bucks for the straight one. Lockwood probably has them too.
