Remove Oil Return Tube

Is there a secret technique to remove the oil return tube from the heads? I need to replace it because it's damaged but it seems impossible!

Are you talking about the long pushrod tubes or a 90 degree coolant tube?

I'm not sure if you can buy this oil return tube or the head has to go in for the repair. The part number which is in the IPC 72-20-00 pg. 28 is 924440 and it is held in place with Loctite 648 which will take heat to remove it. You'll have to call a service center and see what they say. I don't believe there is a procedure spelled out in the Heavy Maint. manual for this procedure so that's what leads me to believe the head needs to go in. I may be wrong and you should make a call.

I read where you have to heat to 220 degrees with a heat gun to remove them. I have the same problem but the heat gun did not work. Any more sugestions?
