Hello, I need to remove the rubber "water tube" and radiator hose from expansion tank to replace a missing "rubber plate" under the expansion tank. I bought the tool to expand the clamps.

Any hints on removing these hoses? I'm not having any success. Even with the clamp expanded, they are attached to the expansion tank very snugly and there is not much room to work them off. Also, must they be replaced with new after removal or can they be reused if not damaged (engine is 4 years old with only 100 hours)?

Thank you.

I am assuming that you haven't had to do a lot to the engine as far as maintenance goes if its only got 100 hours. Its not very complex and if you go to the online maintenance manual you can read about the procedure to familiarize yourself with the process.
The hoses have seated themselves nicely into their respective positions now with heating and cooling. a hose removal plier may help but they will still be difficult to pull off. I have often used a small set of "picks" to get them started by gently prying the end up and working around it slowly, being very careful not to damage the hose inner diameter and or stab myself. I have been successful on the former. (curad) makes a repair kit for the latter.
Don't use a rough jawed tool to pull them off, you will have a good grip and probably damage the outer sheath. I replace all the rubber every 5 years but many many pilots simply fly the water hoses until they see noticeable cracking or wear outside their comfort zone. the water system only cools the heads, so a broken hose means managing the heat and going to a safe landing area IE airport. finding the problem and fixing it. Roger Lee wisely says, "Why pay a thousand bucks in hotels, car rental, mechanic and hassle when you can prevent it with a 30 dollar purchase and a couple hours of your time?" I like Roger. do you have a picture of the engine install?

I said that? I should have wrote it down. LOL
Another way to break that bond is grab the hose up by the end at the expansion tank and put the other hand on the expaansion tank. Now try and rotate each in the opposite direction with a hard turning motion.

Possibly a little heat with a heat gun on the one hose you are trying to remove. it might soften the "stick" to the expansion tank tube.

It's not hard to twist them off if you are doing them all one after another and are planning on replacing them, some I even cut, leaving enough to grab and twist. but just the one would be a little tougher.

Success. I bought a set of radiator hose picks on Amazon and used one to gently break the bond. The hoses came off easily. Thanks all!
