Hi,

I have a 912UL with 200 Hr that developed an oil leak in the oil return tubes. When the cylinder head was reinstalled using the new torque procedure the upper right collar nut of cylinder 4 could not be torqued to 30 nM because at about 27 nM the stud begins to rotate with the nut. Never overheated or serviced before. Could this be a problem of the thread sleeve? Any ideas on how to fix the issue?

It is time to remove the Head and find out why it will not tighten.
It could be the Sleeve is turning or the Sleeve and/or the stud are stripped.
You won't know until you disassemble it and look.

I am sure you already knew this and was hoping someone had a magic wand that would fix it.
Take it apart. Find the Problem. And fix it the proper way.
This is seldom the easy way. :)

Finally got my hands on all the pieces, disassembled the head and cylinder and replaced the Hex screw, the thread sleeve and the stud. It will still not torque to 30 nM without rotating but will take the old torque procedure described in the maintenance manual (10 nM + 120) without rotating and reach at least 27 nM. Is this good enough?
