Looking for a dongle (p/n 966679) to connect a PC running TLR software to diagnose a manifold pressure problem on an older 914. No longer available from Rotax. Anyone know where to get or borrow one or how to make one if that's possible ?

Thanks,

Mark

The older TCUs are effectively obsolete now, so the factory recommends that you purchase a new and improved "software version 4.6" TCU, part # 966741.

If you do not want to purchase a new TCU, it's possible to substitute for the (now-out-of-production) 966670 dongle by using a 966675 'calibration set' dongle instead.

Your local iRMT technician may have a 966675 set in their toolbox. And any appropriately-certified iRMT technician may borrow one from their local ROTAX distributor. (The 966675 calibration set is not available to end-users, only to trained iRMT techs...)

See this video ( and its related information) for more info about the different TCU/software combinations: https://www.rotax-owner.com/en/videos-topmenu/rotax-minute/435-tcutips

Thanks very much for the help ! If we upgrade to the 966741 TCU what is the setup/calibration process and is the 66675 'calibration set' dongle required ?

    Thanks

With a 966741 TCU , no dongle is required. (You just connect directly with a standard serial cable.) You'd need to do the normal throttle calibration procedure (see the video https://www.rotax-owner.com/videos-topmenu/elearning-videos/478 )
