    Okay herewith photos. So after doing a bit of research. It seems like things aren't all that bad. I still have no idea why oil decided to suddenly make its way into the combustion chamber and push out the rod seals. But, the cross hatching in the sleeve seems to be standard per Rotax? And the build up is normal?

    Any remarks?

    Unfortunately I broke the oil seal ring on the piston during removal so that will need to be replaced.

    I doubt oil in the cylinder caused the pushrod tubes to leak. I'm also not sure I would call anything a "sudden issue" if the engine sat for 10 years ;-)
    I'm just learning Rotax stuff but have been working on engines for 40 years. If you truly had oil above the piston maybe you had some rings stuck from sitting.
    As for the nasty looking piston top and combustion chamber, just normal nasty aviation stuff :-)
    I need to replace one pushrod tube o-ring myself. The times the simple process was described to me....no one ever mention the alignment tool !
    I need to get the tool, I have seen a 877-262 and also a 877-263
    Mine is a 914 but I wouldn't think a 912 and 914 would be different.

    877-262 and 263 are functionally the same.

    Following my functional check flight after my second 12 month/100 hr. inspection on my engine  I found oil seeping from both tubes on #4. It’s not a lot, but enough to blow around onto other components and a small area on the firewall.  The engine is just over three years old, been in service since July 2019, with 99 hours TTSN,  it’s a 912UL flown regularly and faithfully maintained by the manuals.  Makes no sense just these seals on just this cylinder would fail so soon.  All the others are dry. Can this be a temporary condition caused by something or am I looking at replacement? Update: after wiping everything dry and flying again, no trace of oil found. Perhaps oil that dribbled down onto the coolant radiator during my oil change, which was then was blown back onto the return tubes and pooled at the seal lips.
