I found the VDO number for the sensor with the specs that are on my old one, but that doesn’t seem to help what is offered for sale.
Thank you Roger, for 360-040.

I purchase a sender on eBay for $12 plus S&H. I have only tested it doing a runup on the ground, but it seemed to work fine from 1500 to 5400 rpm.
I connected the wire from my MGL Stratomaster Velocity (obsolete) to the G post and the ground wire from the engine to the case of the sender, not to a post. The sender is mounted on the engine mount to get away from the vibration and hopefully extend the life of the sender. If this cheap sender doesn't last it will be easy to install the $50 one from JEGS or SUMMIT RACING. O'Reiley's Auto Parts sells a set of reducers that includes a 10mm to 1/8NPT adapter to get from the oil pump housing to hose connections.
