Use of oil during initial 25 hours of new and overhaul engines

There is no special break-in oil for Rotax 912 engines. I believe that they are run-in for an hour at the factory on a dyno. Just run it on one of the approved oils like Aeroshell 4 Plus.

Faisal, could you please tell me where in the manuals you see a reference to a 25 hour break in period for the Rotax 914?

Lycoming factory or other overhaul shops usually recommends using MINIRAL OIL straight depending on season you break in such as for example phillips 100 straight aviation MINIRAL OIL in th summer or phillips 20W50 MINIRAL OIL any season. Continental engine you can use regular aeroshell or phillips as long as you can maintain minimum of 75% power by not going too high on none turbo engine. The most important thing on both of these  none rotax engines is don't baby the engines or it will not break in properly requiring removal of cylinders. Don't run engines below 2450 rpm except during landing by trying to baby engines or trying to save on fuel. 

Rotax engine tolerance are very low and rpm very high compared to lycoming or continental. Follow manufacture recommendation and use oil that is recommended in all cases as stated by others. Don't confuse rotax with lycoming or continental engines. Rotax is close to modern car engines as to break in unlike other aircraft engines like lycoming or continental. 

I meant to say that usually initial 25 to 40 hours is considered break in period of engines, although I could not find that in Rotax manuals nor any other information related to oil used for this period
