I won't be flying a 914 for a couple of months and wanted to inquire:

1. Should I drain fuel and leave tank empty or better to leave full?

2. If fuel tank should be full should it be MOGAS with Ethanol (which I usually burn) or 100LL?

3. Is it advisable to static run engine every couple of weeks even if unable to get to normal oil operating temps or does that do more harm than good?

4. I'll plug the exhaust and cover the air filters, anything else needed?

Thanks

If it were mine I would put 100LL with Decalin in the tank, fuel line and carburetors. I let my 912 sit without running it for 1 year 4 years ago and had and still have no issues after  putting  it back in service. I did not cover any thing just let it sit.

Put Stabil fuel additive in your fuel and make sure it mixes in and circulates through the carbs. Phil Lockwood says that stuff is "like magic". Auto gas will last for many months like that.

Do NOT run the engine or turn the prop while the engine is in storage, per Rotax.

8-10 weeks is nowhere long enough to even worry about.
Do not change the fuel or add any additives to the tank.
Leave the fuel level wherever it currently is.
When you are ready to fly, top off the tanks with fresh fuel and initially stay in the pattern to get your currency again before leaving the local area.
    You will be fine.
