Dave - thanks for the tip on the McFarland cable stops.  I didn't realize that they made such a thing.  Just for my clarity I assume this stop clamps onto the throttle cable at the engine end of the threaded bowden cable adjustment gizmo.  Then I can set it so that this clamp hits the bowden cable adjustment end at or just before the idle stops are bottomed out by the idle stop screw.  I'm taking my carbs to LEAF and I'll find out from them if they actually test the float needle effectiveness under pressure or they just readjust it and move on.  Depending on their response I may set up a test rig like you suggest.

Yes that is where they go.

I just tested a new carb and it passed the test but I was never able to get mine to hold even with a new seat. The new carb also runs good and is synced now with the old carb.

I asked Brett at LEAF just last week and they do test the float.  He said they are also three weeks out.

    Good morning,

I have two question but one is a little off topic

Have any with a SLSA changed over to ELSA.?

Now, engine related:There's a lot of maintainabce being done and posted on the site in regards to the Rotax engine.

Is this being completed by the owner and signed off or are folks just doing it on  their own?

There are so many great videos on "how to" which seems to be targeted to individual owners.

    Thanks,

    Rich

    Hi Rch,

If you want to do your own mait. go take the Rotax classes. There is a lot more to learn plus tips & tricks in classes. It's your safety and others at risk since you can't pull over to the curb.

    Rich,

If you need an experienced Rotax mechanic in PA, I can recommend Paul Shuch in Lock Haven.
