I am going to fit a return line on a 2008, 912/80 Gt450 Quik per IM-73-00-00. (I guess the previous owner must have deleted it)  I plan to plumb the return line to the manifold like the diagram using hardware like the pic.

Is the orifice available for purchase, or do I need to craft one myself?

Do you see any other red flags?

Thanks,
Jeff

.35mm Mikuni Idle jet. Cost about $5. It can be inserted into your brass fitting or in the end of a banjo bolt like many have for Rotax.

I think Rotax recommends aux pump (electrical) in line and not parallel as schemed.

    Thanks as always Roger

Is it one of these?  They're both described as jet size 35, so I'd imagine they'd both work, but maybe one ends up being easier to plumb than the other?

    Mikuni: VM22/210-35

    Mikuni: VM28/486-35

Jeff as Ran suggests the pumps need to be in series.

And of course weight is the enemy of aviation. You could cut the weight by 2/3 if you used a piece of 1/2" aluminium bar and drill & tap some holes into it. Just be aware that some of your connections will use tapered connections.

    Ran, Chook,

Yeah, I'm on the fence on the parallel v. series thing.  I decided to go parallel because I get redundant fuel pickup locations, fuel pickups and filters in addition to redundant pumps.  I also added a fuel pressure gauge to keep an eye on things.  The downsides are that I had to add a couple check valves and that I'm not doing the way Rotax recommends.

I've been running it this way for ~100hrs with no problems except pilot error. (I had the aux pump off while taking off with low fuel and it gulped some air.)  I'm open to be convinced of the error of my ways though.  (Its Experimental)

As for a less sketchy manifold - I like that idea.  I could probably get someone at the airport to help me fab one, but it looks like there some good ones for sale.  Save some weight and more elegant.

    Thanks Y'all
