    This can be a lose or a bad ground wire connection. Do the most common, cheap and easy thing to find the issue first. Just don't throw money at it.

    Good diagnostics is invaluable and usually cheaper and quicker.

    My number 1 suspicion is a flaky ground.  I'm going to rewire/connect both the signal and ground for the sensor.

    My last sensor issue (which also caused occasional radio static like I have now) was a lose ground (in the same area!).

    Tomorrow AM I'll do the work and go fly.  I'll let you all know.  Thanks so much!

    FIXED!!  While I didn't find an obvious loose ground, I just rewired the ground for the sensor with a shorter wire and a new connector.  Also cleaned all the connector surfaces.

    And just like that, the temps were normal!  Well, I'd like to see higher than 160F in cruise, but that should be easier to address.
