    Robert,

The communications error means that for some interval of time the ECU is not electronically seeing a coil or possibly an injector. You can widen the BUDS data columns to seen the entire message and it might narrow this down a bit. The “sparks missed” code leads me to think it’s a coil.  The communications error also leads me to believe that this is on the primary side of the coil, not the secondary side where the spark plug wires connect. Does your engine have the old style (faston) primary side terminals on the coils or the new style one piece connectors?

Old style. Ohms read ok on all with wire continuity.

There is a known issue with the old style connectors vibrating and loosing connectivity momentarily.   Make sure the primary side connectors on all coils are a tight fit.

Still haven't figured out the source of the Lane A light. Had the gearbox inspected and it needed some things. Hopefully that had something to do with it.

What plugs and injectors does Lane A control? They all seem fine but I'll look closer before getting the wiring harness and ECU for testing.

    Thanks,

    Bob
