Hello,

Is there some body who installed the rétrofit Kit on his 912is to upgrade it ? What price did you really pay ? What are the results ?

Kind regards
Sylvain

    Hi Sylvain,

I don't think they are out yet. Rob may have a better handle on this question.

I installed a kit and it took about 7 hours of labor at $90/hr. I only went for a short test flight and it started to overspeed so it makes more power. I had to catch a airline flight so did not get to see how it performed after the prop was adjusted.

I have the 912iS installed on my Rans S-7S.I have a Rotax repair center in Michigan. Leading Edge Airfoils is my supplier. I was told late Summer before I will receive my kit to upgrade to the Sport. I was given a level 3 rating to be able to purchase the Buds Level 3 cables to be able to upgrade the Firmware on the 912iS. this will improve the performance until I receive my Kit. If interested in installing the 912iS follow my install on Rans Clan S-7 Forum,Fuel Injected Bush S-7.

    Hi Rob,

I heard late summer for the general public. Is that still the schedule?
I'm surprised it took you 7 hrs. Originally on the first announcement Rotax was saying 4, but I know each plane will be different.

So my take on this is I should plan all day for in retro fit?

I'm old and slow, but its not a race...
You do have to take the gearbox apart and replace the overload clutch with a new clutch with a higher setting (due to the extra torque)and I think its a good idea to be very methodical and carefully route/tie everything. The instructions are pretty good with lots of pictures, a little too detailed maybe (52 pages!)
