Has anyone installed a quick drain valve on their Rotax 915 oil tank for easy oil changes? I see some available on Aircraft Spruce but they are listed for the 912/914 series engines and note that an adapter is needed for late models. Is this part compatible with the newer 915is?

Rotax doesn't like them and I don't either. They drain so slow you do not get a decent flush of the tank. It takes 10 seconds to take the regular plug out. Plus by the time it finally drains it could have done three other things.

Mine is installed with the extension kit. Since an oil change is now MUCH easier, and no mess, i still need to remove the scat tubing, but you can see how buried the tank is on my gyro installation.

I now change my oil more often which I believe decreases wear and lengthen any aircraft engine's life.
