When reinstalling the gearbox after service. We used Loctite 5910 for the gasket between gearbox and engine.

I can't find any clear information about how long the curing time is on the Loctite 5910. The technical sheet is not clear to me.

We have +18 degrees Celsius in the hangar.

How many hours do we need to let the seal harden before engine start?

And do we need to wait further before we use the engine in flight?

Loctite RTV cures by the moisture in the air.  In winter the air is very dry in most northern countries so allow a bit more time.  Set time is about 15 to 20 minutes, be sure it is assembled and torqued before that time.  Cure time to use allow at least an hour, full cure usually takes 24 hours.

    Cheers

If you do it correctly you won't have a leak. I've never had a gearbox leak after installing it. It's easy to do. Just DO NOT over apply it and have it squish out on the inside of the gearbox. A thin film and the surface.
