ENGINE OIL INCREASING ABOVE MAX

    Hi Petri,
    At the moment the issue seems resolved even if I didn't do anything specific other than waiting more on the ground during the warm up phase taking off only after having reached more than 60C instead of the minimum Rotax recommended value of 50C.
    I was already using the Aeroshell Sport Plus 4 when the issue first occurred so I don't think it is oil related.

    I just received a results of oil analysis, as I sent a sample of engine oil for analysis.

    The oil was contaminated with significant amount of ethanol and water. Therefore, I decided to replace my fuel with non-ethanol blended fuel. Hopefully this helps.

    Roger, my plane is CTSW and the oli tank is factory installed. I don't know its heighr related to engine, but I believe it is not a problem.

    Hi Petri,

    I also have a CTSW and I'm a service center. Don't panic about a little fuel in the oil. It can happen. It probably won't be there all the time and it will cook off at operating temps. I have had many people over the years call about this with many different planes. The ethanol had nothing to do with it. The 91 oct. with ethanol is perfectly safe in the Flight Design. When you use oil analysis use them as a rend indicator because the items listed can move up or down the PArts per million [PPM] scale, unless you show something way off the charts. Then it would be prudent to investigate further.
