I have checked all my fittings and none are leaking. I did notice today after a flight that the drip pan for the carb looked like some gas was present from the plastic tube that is attached to the carb. Is this normal and if not, what adjustment to the carb would fix the problem. My fuel pressure does not go above 4.2 PSI during high RPM operation.

    Hi Chuck,

Unfortunately a drop or two of gas in a cockpit can smell like a serious leak. If you have dried or live fuel in the drip tray the number one offender is the carb bowel gasket. It just needs to be replaced which only takes a few minutes. If your not sure, clean the tray out then watch it for the next couple of flights. I replace lots of gaskets. Check the weep holes on the fuel pump while your at it. Run your finger under every fuel fitting. you'll find it.

Thanks for your input. The only thing I have not done is replace the carb gasket. I'll try that and Merry Christmas.

    Hi Chuck,

If it isn't leaking don't break the bowl seal just to do it. Look in the drip tray and that will let you know if you have any leak.
