914 on avgas

Hi
My 914 runs fine on mogas it has a intercooler and runs ok on low octane but if I have to use avgas as its only available at most of the airfields in Australia the engine falters at high map readings ,if I ease the throttle back a bit to 100% from 115% it seems ok again . Once the avgas has been diluted back down it will hold 115% ok .Could it be the lead in the fuel fouling the plugs.it only plays up on avgas. Any help would be great
