My engine has always ran like a top. Always perfect. Now it has 210 hours on it. Engine has never been opened up.I removed the exhaust to give rings a check expecting to need to do full de-carbon. I realize the rings usually stick on the side opposite the exhaust port. On the exhaust port side everything sure looked clean. I could see the writing stamped on the top of each piston and could see both rings move on each piston. I tested compression and came up with 119 (mag side) and 118.5(pto side)psi. I have been using aeroshell mixed in tank (no auto-mixer) mixed at 45:1, 40:1 in temps below -5F or if I am flying small wing on my trike that makes engine work harder.

I have attached pics.

I am thinking it is fine and not worth taring top end off. What are your thoughts? Has anyone experienced clean appearance on exhaust side only to tear it down and find a mess of carbon everywhere else?
