Hi Folks, any ideas or experience on
In- line fuel filters. Since pleated paper is out I am leaning towards Earle's, Or Summit in line sintered element Aluminium billet type. Another question is
What micron ?

Thanks for your help.

    Hi Bob.

I recently switched from those paper filters in large (1" x 2") metal cans to a Weber carbon fiber and aluminum filter with the washable stainless filter element of 400 micron. 100 micron is recommended for fuel injection. Every annual I remove the filter element, put it in a jar of gasoline, shake it thoroughly, and pour the gas though a blue shop towel. I have a replacement element just in case.

The paper element fuel filters have a wide variety of quality problems, from holes to detached elements since you can't see the filter itself. I would buy 2 and open one before using the other. I went through several brands each year because of this problem. One year, the last year, every one was completely unexeptable.

Alan, I believe Rotax says 100 micron filter is required. The 912 installation manual says:

"In the feed line from tank to the fuel pumps an additional fine filter with
meshsize 0.1 mm (.004 in.) has to be provided."

    Google says .004 inch = 101.6 microns.

Hi Alan, Thank you for the information.
Unfortunately I am unable to locate this
specific filter than you have. Would by
chance do you have a part number?

    Again, many thanks.
