Has anyone ever run into a rotax b gearbox where the mag plug is stripped. Do you have a suggestions of possible fixes.

The majic word you are looking for is "Heli-Coil".
    "Fix-a-Thred" is another brand.

You drill out the hole slightly, tap it with a supplied special Tap, and then insert the new steel insert with the supplied special tool.
After you initially spend $30 for the tooling, each additional insert will cost only a few bucks.
    A very common fix.
Available at better auto parts stores.
Be sure to check for the proper thread size.

Pricey, but still way cheaper than a new gearbox.

    Bill,
Thank you! I suppose I'll need to use locktite from now on.

I have found that threaded inserts have a locking property of their own.
You often need to wrench them in and out the whole way.
Fingers are often not up to the job.

The Magnetic Plug should have a Copper washer under it for locking and sealing purposes.

Blue, Green and Red Locktite ar not recommended for a bolt that you will be removing at every Oil Change.
You risk backing the insert back out of the hole.
Or worse yet backing it part way out of the hole.
Once you break the installation/insertion tab off, There is no longer a means to drive it back into the hole.

Purple Locktite (The Weakest) might be acceptable as a thread sealer if needed.

You now have Stainless Steel Threads in a hole that used to have Aluminum Threads.
You might torque the head off the bolt before you will strip the threads again.
