In the middle of an oil change I managed to misplace the drain plug.
So until I find it or order a new one the tank will not have any oil in it.
I have not removed any of the hoses at the top of the tank.
I have not yet changed the oil filter.
Will it be necessary to purge the system?
Thanks
Bob

It will not be necessary to do the complete, new engine style purge.
Wait until you can refill the tank before you replace the Oil filter.

The Tank's Oil Drain plug should be a 12mm long, M12x1.75 bolt.
You should be able to find a replacement one at any Auto parts store.
You will need to drill it for the safety wire.

Once refilled and re-filtered, before starting the engine...
Turn the prop CCW by hand until the Oil Filter refills and you see the Oil Pressure gauge move off the Zero peg.
This might take 20-50 turns, be patient.

The Oil hoses should not drain just because the tank is empty.
