Can anyone tell me the best source for purchasing new Bing 64 carburators for 912 uls?

Thank you

There are a few ideas here. First just order new ones from a Rotax Service center. Or you can call them and ask if they have any used ones for sale, some people that crashed their planes have used ones for sale.  On this one you'd have to ask around on some of the owner aircraft websites and maybe even on Barnstormers website.

    Roger,

I polished the needle seat per our discussion and the carb worked until I finished the sync.  Running as smooth as is possible.  Turned by back to put my tools away and noticed engine starting to stumble and smelled fuel.  Fuel flowing out the vent tube.

If you would be kind enough to tell me, were would you buy a new Bing 64.  Which service center, vender like Leaf with a contact number or email.

i greatly appreciated you taking the time to speak with me yesterday morning and sharing your expertise.  Best regards.

    Hi Michael,

Two choices here. You can send your carbs to Leading Edge Airfoils in WI and they might be able to save them. If not you can buy new ones from them and possible good used ones.

My experience with Bings has not been good.  Worked just fine on my BMW motorcycles with not one problem. On the Rotax nothing but problems. I would not buy a used one. Some of the overhaulers out there don't do the float pressure test the most important test of all. Leading Edge did say that they did the test.

I purchased my new Bing from Lockwood In Floida.   May be a case of buy from whoever has one on stock.  My brand new carb came with the old style (must be replaced) float. After proving it to them they sent me a new style float witch I had to pay for until they received my return. They sent a pair of floats instead of one like I needed. Best I can remember Leading Edge did not have one in stock.

    Dave,

thanks for your response.  I've purchased all my rebuild parts from either LEAF or Lockwood depending on who had what I needed in stock.
