    My theory (for what its worth) is that, in the aviation world, people tend towards conservatism ie what I am used too, what my mate is using, will be just dandy for me and so the obsolete style continues on.

    Alternative theory: The more ribs/barbs the better it must be. This group also tend to be the hose clamp over-tighteners (more must be better).

    Crud over generalisation I am sure, so apologies to any hurt feelings.

    Either way the multi barb (traditional) crowd will defend their use of same, " till the cows come home".

    You make it sound like the cows never do come home...

    Or is that an obsolete phrase?  ?
