    Should I be using the 2:24 reduction box (currently fitted) or put the 2:58 reduction box on??? prop is a power fin 3 blade 56"

    Tim have you had a read of the CPS tech articles especially part 2 and 24,

    I have no experience with the rotax point ignition engines mine are Ducati but keep reading about the dampening box giving odd faults,

    You have not said weather you have done any checks of the ignition side of your engine...but as the other guys have said...contact breaker points do need lots of care,

    If you have not read the article it will be well worth while....I have used them lots over the years I have run my 503....the link is below.

    yeh tried new points ,gaped and timed.new coils,all to no avail,and NO have not read but will now ,thanks Nick

    Dont forget the dampening box....it seems very important...the artical do to tell you how to test the box.

    yep already tried,duisconnected and swaped wires..looks like Ill be selling all these heap of rotax engines ...3 complete engines all same prob??????????? Ive done all I can, Im not touching another piece of Rotax again..,Now I know why Mythbusters sent back ther new rotax.....
    NOT HAPPY,,for a simple engine sure is complex??? 3 months , a hundred phone calls .endless threads,hundreds oif $$$$$$$$$$$ and not a change,,what a pirce of ,,I might just strap my lawn mower on the front.grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr frustrated
