The other night while taking off, I accelerated and the engine bogged down. Slow throttle to full was ok, faster caused the bog. I replaced the fuel pump, all lines and the filter. I checked the needle adjustment and the fuel mixture. All where they should be. I blew out the carb ports. Filtered all my fuel. I learned that if I had the filter installed the bog would happen. If not installed, it excelled OK. I cleaned the filter, but it still bogged. Without the filter, I noticed a spray mist of fuel when I excelled coming from where the filter attaches. I put my hand by the opening and it was sprayed with fuel when if did the excel. With the filter on, it acts like it is flooding...I am loosing some good flying weather here in Wisconsin and need to get back into the air...HELP! macsw@hotmail.com

    Rotax engine bogs at first
I rebuilt my rotax 447 and ran it today. We had a little bit of a problem with the temperature spiking up while we were running it. So we adjusted the carb to run more rich and the temperatures stayed in the right range. My problem is now is when I rapidly go to full power, it will bog down then go to full. If I go a little slower to full power i doesn't do it at all. I'm thinking it might be the timing. Its a pionts ignition. Which direction(clock ways or counter clock ways) to I have to move the timing. It could be that its runing to rich now but I don't think thats the problem. Thanks for the help

I think if I where to gun my throttle from idle to wide open it may also bog....I always open gradually

What if any work have you done to the points and plugs inc changing the HT wires and plug caps if you have a spare set.
