    All

I can't believe this is a discussion item.  Go buy a dual direction ½ inch (that is important) 250 ft lb torque wrench.  (not harbor freight) They sell all day long for 40 to 90 bucks US.  Don't be so cheap that you don't get it done correctly.

if you can't afford to buy a torque wrench to do the job then go to this web page and use a socket with a breaker bar.  Find your correct personal weight and enter it on the calculator.  Then it will calculate the distance you need to mark your bar.  Put a tape marker at that point and then place both hands on that spot on the bar.  Now the fun part, push down until you can lift your complete weight (the one you put in) off the ground.  That is force X length, that is the torque you require.  For me it is better to buy the correct tool.

    Cheers

    Hi RW,

We did this in class a long time ago. 150 ft/lbs. We took a 150 lb. guy, measured out on the wrench one foot and let him hang on the wrench. Good thing I'm closer to 220 lbs. now so I can do it. LOL 😂

Shucks I just remembered I have a good torque wrench for this. 😏

    You are most welcome.

I am very grateful for the information from Rotax Wizard and Roger Lee.  I was unsure if the two different values I had found were for wet/dry torque, although that did not seem likely, or some other factor that I was not aware of.  Having expert help to quickly clarify the point was a godsend and well worth the subscription price to your site.
