There are 2 plugs on the gearbox of my 914 and below the oil filter, I assume they need safety wire?

Any suggestions for what to attach the wire to after going through each bolt? There's no obvious place.

Update I now see the standoff for the lower attachment. Pic below.

Shaun, that oil temp sensor wire looks a bit tight. If that's its normal resting state, you might want to take steps to slacken it. I wish my engine looked that new and shiny 😀.

I wire them separately because you always have to take the magnetic plug out and inspect it each oil change. The oil pressure plug I safety wire and leave it alone. In the picture you can see the 6mm screw on the gearbox at about the 1030 hour mark to the upper left of the magnetic plug. I safety wire up and around that. Easy access, no interference with the everyday inspections and no way  that vibration could ever loosen that plug.

Is this the way you are describing Roger?

    Hi Shaun,

That's it. I've been doing it this way for 30 years. I see many people doing it this way. Easy to install and easy to remove and solid as a rock. Safety wire is there to stop vibration from loosening the plug so you could actually just use one hole and you're not technically locked into using both. In your picture it would be the bottom hole. You always want to pull something safety wired to the tightened position so it can't loosen.
