Good to hear recommendations on the K&S caps. Ordered some from Sparkplugs.com, they were under $8 each with reasonable shipping costs. Thanks everyone for your advice.

A couple years back I had a boot fail from heat, it essentially melted and crystallized.  I had the old style 45 degree boots at that time and after considering the options I decided to replace all 8 of them with the new Rotax 90 degree boots. Yes it was expensive, and even more so because I replaced the wires also.  But, I’m happy I did. The old boots were EDPM rubber, while the new boots feel like silicone and are much more heat resistant.  200 hours later they look new.  The 90 degree angle also makes them easy to pull test and the wires tuck in better.

I believe the silicone boots are superior, and the one Walt posted looks to be silicon.  I have considered saving money on non-Rotax parts, but I always end up buying the Rotax part.  I agree it can feel painful at times.
