Has anyone had their oil pressure varing from the mid 40's to mid 60's when running the enging at 5000 to 5300 RPM?

    Yes.
    912S about 400 hours on Rans S-7.
Oil pressure drops to about 39 PSI on takeoff as oil temp rises from 120 to 200 degrees. At 200 degrees, the oil pressure is then about 50 PSI at low power, and about 43 PSI at full power.
Oil pressure is steady and does not "flutter".

When the oil pressure is higher at idle then drops at higher rpms and then back down to a higher reading again at low rpms it is usually a poor ground. The ground is there, but not a good one.
Some oil pressure change from cooler temps and or idle to cruise power is normal.
Mine at first start up and at idle is 60-65 psi. When the engine is hot and at cruise it is 53 psi. The pressures that fluctuate a significant amount with throttle tends to be a poor ground or poor sending unit.
