I have @ 50 enjoyable flight hours on my RV-12 E-LSA with a ROTAX 912 ULS. I have noticed that after most flights, there appears to be no sign of any fuel discharge from either of the carbs' air vents. However, every once and a while, I will find a spot or two of fuel residue in one of the carb drip pans just below the carb air vent outlet.

Is this slight / occasional air vent fuel residue normal? Is it caused by air turbulence, vibration of the carbs, starting / shutdown procedure, etc?
