I'm flying a 2015 Tecnam P2008TC with a Rotax 914 and a 3 blade sensinch prop. On take off I'll typically see 5240-5290 RPM with 40.9" MAP throttle 115%. In cruise at altitude, if I go to 100% throttle I'll be blipping 5800 or more.

My quetion - Can I pull some pitch for increased cruise speed? Or is there a minimum recommended takeoff RPM when at 115% throttle? Or, is 5240 even enough RPM on takeoff/climb, should it be higher?

For reference, all my flying is in Florida. Warm temps, high humidity, but no more than 200' above sea level.

Since you have a ground adjustable prop then you could add a tad of pitch to get down around 5600 - 5650 at WOT in cruise at your average altitude. Right now you have a better climb pitch vs a balanced pitch for climb and cruise.

It won't hurt to just do a test.

Thanks Roger! Is it bad for the motor if 115% throttle ends up yielding less than 5200 RPM after pitch change?

    Yes, It would stress it.

So I'm not misspeaking. Your prop is ground adjustable?
