 I just bought a used buckeye rotax 503, has 50 some hours on it, when bought, it started third pull after sitting six weeks.
I know that the buckeye and rotax attached should not get wet. Super sunny day heading home. Ran into rain at first drop, I covered everything on the machine I could. But rained on me going down the road for 3 hours. Get home next day engine will not start. Have been letting it sit out in the the sun all day, and today. Anything I need to do specific to get engine to turn over and run?

Most likely water in the fuel or water in the electrical connections.
Dump the carb bowls and possibly the rest of the fuel and put in fresh. Don't know if rain water got into the fuel system. You may want to flush fuel lines too. Make sure there is no water in the electrical connectors anywhere. Unplug them and use some air to blow them out.

As usual my problems having compounded themselves, as I took the cover off the control panel to look at the wires, three wire connectors became disengaged, now I am stuck not know where the wires were connected, and even if I get lucky and hook them up right I would not know because the machine would not start up before wires were dislodged. I am trying to find a schematic for the console, to correct wires.

Not a whole lot of movement on this board, anyone know where you can get some help in this century?

    Hi Dave,

We probably won't be much help on the three wires as we don't know what they went to. Put the board back up you maybe you can discern left, right or center and get them re-connected. It may help to follow the wires back to see where they came from and then it may tell you where they hook up by looking at the three disconnects on the panel side.

After the wires get re-connected you still need to do this:

Most likely water in the fuel or water in the electrical connections.
Dump the carb bowls and possibly the rest of the fuel and put in fresh. Don't know if rain water got into the fuel system. You may want to flush fuel lines too. Make sure there is no water in the electrical connectors anywhere. Unplug them and use some air to blow them out.

:( I did not think info on the wiring would be available through this forum, had to try running out of options on that front. If three wires came loose I could through the process of elimination, get that correct. Problem comes from three wires dislodged and six empty connection places.

I have checked the wiring and have let the machine set in the sun for three days, used weed blower to aide in drying out any wires. So maybe the fuel is bad, how does rain get in to the fuel. I thought this a closed system. If I were to drop a gas line and check it and see no water my coed with the gas would this do the trick, or should I just go ahead do the whole system from tank to carb? Thanks for your help in this I am trying to get this up and flying.
