    kindly info me about ROTAX914 newly overhaul engine or fresh ENGINE OIL CHANG SCHEDULE ON 100LL?

    Hi David,

    If that engine was completely torn down and a full overhaul then do the first change at 25 hrs. If you use 100LL do them at 25 hrs. Most of us that use 91 oct. auto fuel use 50 hrs. changes. Some may stretch the 50 hr. mark, but oil & filter is cheap insurance. Consider the oil your blood and the filter your liver. Disease either and your life is shortened and for a couple of dollars you could have lived a long extended life.
    Don't use aftermarket oil filters and use a good oil and of course Aero Shell Sport Plus 4 is recommended since it was designed and tested just for this engine.

    in a pinch, can aeroshell sport plus 4 be mixed with mobil 1 4t? just wondering if they are compatible .

    I used to carry an extra liter of Aero Shell with me. Never had to use it.

    It should work, but Mobile One is full synthetic and Aero Shell is semi synthetic. They should mix, but may change the additives.
    I would change the oil then when I got home.

    In previous listings in this Forum, SI-912-016 rev 4 was used as the definitive answer to the oil change frequency based on type of fuel listed. However, SI-912-016 rev 10, which is the latest version, states to use the latest version of the Maintenance Manual to determine the oil change frequency. The latest edition of the Line Maintenance Manual (edition 3, Rev 2) states that use of 100 LL > 30% of the time requires oil changes at 50 hr intervals. No where can I find any reference to where a shorter period between oil changes is required. Could anyone please provide the specific reference in current Rotax documentation that states oil change intervals different from the Line Maintenance Manual?
