Was talking with another sportcruiser owner. He asked if I had the capicator installed to smooth out the voltage. Have no idea what he is referring to. Help.

I have a 2008 Sportcruiser. Would this have been installed at time of installation and be an OEM?

    Hi John,

He is probably referring to the 22K capacitor that should be installed in your electrical system. Just so you know this is a minimum rating and larger ones can be installed and sometimes better. The new 912is engine has 2 x 33k capacitors, one for each lane. I have seen some people use up to 100K. It will help with a noisy system and helps on voltage issues like if the battery has problems.
You can see this setup in the Installation manual. When you install this remember it is polarity sensitive and if you swap the leads you'll fry it on first start.

I know you know Roger, but for some one who's not too sure capacitors are measured in microfarads and not Ohms.

    Hi Mak,

You're absolutely right. I wasn't paying attention and I just got up answering some emails and my brain was totally attached to my fingers.
Thanks for the check. I hate to be illiterate and politically incorrect.
