Hi Rob,

I was ask a question so see what you think.

Can you hook up the two soft start wires to the positive side of the starter instead of the solenoid? If not why? I don't see a reason why you couldn't. It's a 12V signal at start.

The 12v signal on the coil of the Start solenoid will appear, time wise, before the solenoid closes.
The 12v signal on the POS Side of the starter is after the Solenoid and is going to have all the inductive noise from the starter motor brushes on it, and also all the voltage drop in the starter cables.
The good battery may show 12v+ on the battery posts while cranking, but the voltage drop from the 200+ amps of cranking the motor may only deliver 10-11 noisy volts at the starter terminal. The two signals appear to be essentially the same thing until you factor in the dynamics of the situation.

    Would it work? Probably!
Will it cause intermittent problems down the road? Maybe!
Probably not worth the small risk.

It is not allowed: no circuit protection for the ASM wires.
