Hi, thank you very much for your response.
My concern and question were caused by a conversation with one of the authorized service centers, which claimed—just as I mentioned—that these two criteria are considered independently, and that’s it.
I understand that this is not just an interpretation on the forum, but also the official position of ROTAX?

If you installed a new gearbox housing you need to check as per the bulletin, this would be anything from late 2023 to late 2024. If you had to replace the crankcase, which is unlikely but perhaps you had a major failure and that was done within the same time period, then check that as well. Otherwise follow the engine serial range to see if affected and check if you seriall is in the list.
Always remember this only affects the injected engines in the range. Spare parts that may have been changed you should know by the engine log book if your maintenance provider follows standard practice as required by any CAA or the FAA.
Cheers

I have an 893341 Version 2 gearbox that was installed as in upgrade in 2019. I believe mine was one of the first batch delivered. Best I can tell all 893341 gearboxes installed as “spare parts” are affected. So this may go back five or more years.

Jeff,
Criterion B outlines all affected components if they were delivered as spare parts during engine
repair, maintenance, or general overhaul, specifically for parts supplied between
September 1, 2023, and November 30, 2024.
If your gearbox was replaced in 2019, it is not affected, even if it shares the same part number (P/N) listed in the Service Bulletin (SB).

The issue only came up in 2023, I would doubt yours would be affected. Given it is a gearbox on your iS that part is easy to check regardless. Contact your iSC, I believe that would be Motive based on your location. They can better direct you on that.
The oil spray gearbox was introduced in 2018 specifily for the iS engines and they then expanded that to all the versions of that design type. The heat treat issue, hardness, only affects the Rotax painted boxes from late 2023 to late 2024.
Cheers
